In February 2007, paraglider Eva Wiśnierska-Cieślewicz was sucked up into a cumulonimbus cloud, rapidly climbing at a blazing speed of 45 mph to an altitude of 9,946 m (32,600 feet) - just like a soaring airliner. Despite encountering hypoxia, she miraculously regained consciousness after an hour and safely landed her paraglider. Enduring sub-zero temperatures of -50°C up in the clouds, she emerged covered in ice and bruising from hailstones - a true testament to the thrill and challenge of exploring the unknown.
